We took the kids on a cruise to Mexico a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful. Also, I managed to slip the sling off my arm for all the pictures- sneaky, huh?
Some of the highlights were ice skating, playing basketball, and swimming (hot tub for grown ups) on the ship. The kids loved the kids program, and the food was, of course, worth all the calories.
We visited Mazatlan, Puerto Villarta, and Cabo San Lucas. On land we jet skied, went on a banana boat ride (well, they did), took a glass bottom boat tour, played hot wheels in the sand, dined at local Mexican restaurants, took the city bus, shopped at flea markets, visited cathedrals, visited a local bakery and saw the 4 ft. long cakes, and even bought fresh pineapple with lime and chili off the street. Oh, Kelsey parasailed, Kaiden boogie boarded and got a henna tattoo, and I got my hair braided and then bought some real silver off an honest local at the beach- it sure is shiny... hmmm... We walked a lot, on all those roads made out of stone.
Having the kids there was wonderful. They're already saving for their next trip.

Things are going well with my shoulder- much thanks to all my helpers that took time to come all the way to my house and take care of me so I didn't use that arm! The details: It hurts more than I thought it would doing things I didn't expect to have pain with. It's super stiff and I've been a good girl doing all my stretches, but they feel the equivalent to that yoga pose- boat (you know, where you life your legs and arms up, bum on ground and hold? Ouch). Yesterday for the first time, I could move my arm above my head. Unfortunately, I'm not as lucky as other surgery patients and didn't lose any weight- in fact I couldn't get enough food I was so hungry. Physical therapy is supposed to start soon. And the drum roll, please... I got the immobilizer off last week- hence the stretches! As annoying as it was, I do miss it sometimes when I'm sitting for a long time or trying to sleep, those things can be painful. So, I'll be better before you know it- back to doing my own yard work in no time at all, I hope!
Yes, it's true. Us moms have pocket cameras, video cameras, hand held shorter duration video cameras, cameras for taking the good pictures of the kids, and the camera we leave in the car. But I found out this weekend who I can really trust- the camera I can always count on to be there when I need it. It's my trusty camera phone! Friday night we were in Vegas and we got to meet some of the cast members of our favorite show- The Office, and got to play into being Hollywood star struck for a good couple of hours after. Friends and family, meet Meridith and Oscar!
