Monday was a crazy day around this house- but all the work the last six months paid off as our house passed licensing! Sometime next month we should be receiving paperwork licensing our home as a foster home and the adoption is then pending the completion of our home study- so a few more meetings and bonus classes for that. All in all, we think the garage turned out awesome- albeit almost not passing by Kaiden pulling out a bottle of Martinelli's and dropping it- shattering green glass all over the floor five minutes before the licensing agent was due to arrive at the door. Well- Tony wanted to open that in celebration after we passed and it got opened indeed! We got everything sanitized and the glass vacuumed up just in time and were very pleased to be done with that portion of the qualifying. Unfortunately, the cider celebration didn't pan out so we went to Shakey's for FHE and partied with pizza and quarters for games. Here are some pictures of our garage- not quite as dreamy as it will be one day replacing the shelves with cabinets, but we're proud of it none the less. I must say I am quite pleased with my non slip black garage floor.
Pictures are: Two of the three cabinets that hold anything and everything that a child could eat, drink, cut himself with, or could be considered dangerous in any way.
Books and shelves of household items
Kids area, decked out with VCR, Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, and X Box, along with mini fridge, stereo, and microwave. (Ignore my freezer and pantry)
Tony's work shop area
Kids' shelves of toys and art supplies
The side with the lawn mower opens with its own door so that will be where the motor cycle goes. 30 days to cure the floor and the van will go in between the kids area and Tony's shop and we can- gasp- enter through the garage! The colored bins are full of more toys and sport equipment for the kids. All scooters and big out door sports equipment are nicely stored on the shelves with the household stuff- and we'll see how long that lasts. The plan is to put the bikes on the side with the motorcycle- so we have to pull them from the back yard.
And voila- in pictures you have every spare minute of our entire last month! At least the kids loved us working out there- they got to play on their bikes!
